Journeyman's Most Prestigious Achievement
Journeyman Basketball would like to recognize the following athletes and their achievements by inducting them into our Hall of Fame. Their statistical achievements are great, but what they have provided for fellow Journeymen is greater. Persistance is key. Others can claim scoring wizardry and boast of excellence in the game, but these athletes proved their worth through the years. Their commitment to the program and what they stand for is immeasurable.
The board of directors take great pride in their selections in the Hall of Fame. We deliberate often for weeks before making a final selection.
CRITERIA
1. Must have participated in a minimum of 5 Journeyman Basketball sessions.
2. Must have played in a minimum of 50 games.
3. Must have totaled 1,500 point system points over a Journeyman career.
4. Can no longer be eligible to participate in Journeyman teamwork sessions.
5. Must receive a unanimous decision from all board members in regards to induction into the Hall of Fame.
Simply meeting the above criteria, in no way, makes you a Hall of Fame inductee. The board has taken a very serious approach in this matter and wishes to protect the integrity of its importance. The criteria above are a bare bones minimum requirement. It is the first step in an extremely in depth review of what a player has contributed and achieved during his/her Journeyman career.
The board also looks for the following when considering future Hall of Fame inductees.
1. Volunteer work done for the organization or his/her community
2. Commitment to his/her team
3. Impact made on teammates
4. Participation in charity events and fund raisers
5. A genuine respect for themselves, their teammates and the game
6. Understanding of the teams goals and objectives
7. Communication and punctuality
8. A genuine desire to continue to improve
These goals and criteria can be achieved after an athletes Journeyman career is completed by continuing to participate in fundraising and alumni games. If you are not inducted into the Hall of Fame at the end of your last eligible session it does not signify that you will not be inducted. It simply means you have not yet met the criteria or it is not yet a unanimous board decision. All non-player inductions must be approved by the JPA. (Journeyman Players Association)
Also keep in mind that the Journeyman Basketball Hall of Fame has three different types of inductees.
*Journeymen
*J-Hawks
*Coaches
Coaches are normally inducted by the JPA and players are voted in by the Board of Directors.
Hall of Famers are listed in order of latest induction.
