Christopher McGown

Status: Player Induction Date: March, 2005

Chris McGown started hi Journeyman career in February of 2002. His commitment was quickly recognized as he would participate in 9 of the next 11 sessions. He was MVP for SJE-13, Best Defensive player JJE-9 and SJE-12, Larry Bird Award winner for SJE-13, 6th Man Award winner for JJE-6 and JJE-8, and Team Leader Award winner for SJE-11. At the point of induction Chris had the Senior Journeyman record for steals in a single season with 46 steals and single game record with 12 steals. Chris was always a great weak side defender because his nose was always on the ball and concern to defend his hoop was always superior. At the point of induction he was Journeyman’s all-time leading rebounder with 822rbs. He was also Journeyman’s all-time leader in blocked shots with 135 blocks and leader in games played with 93. He was unquestionably one of the most persistent and dedicated young athletes to ever pass through the program. The hustle and unselfishness he showed us on a nightly basis set the tone for future Journeymen. Know for his speed, Chris’s ability to lead the fast break was legendary and his playmaking ability often overlooked. He was always willing to do whatever it took to win the game. His character was never in question and his passion to win the game always admired. Chris leaves behind some great memories that the coaching staff will speak of for years to come. We wish Chris the best of luck in the future and hope he understands that Journeyman is his home and he is always welcome back in the gym when his schedule permits. Please join us in congratulating Christopher McGown, a true Journeyman.
